About BlindDesk

Software built by people who understand the trade

BlindDesk was built because no existing software understood how a blinds business actually works. We built the tool we wished existed.

Why we built BlindDesk

Independent blinds retailers spend hours every week doing things that should take minutes. Calculating quotes on bits of paper. Typing the same supplier prices into spreadsheets over and over. Losing track of which jobs are waiting for goods. Chasing customers about unpaid invoices.

Generic business software doesn't understand the trade. CRMs built for salespeople don't know what a roller blind headrail is. Quoting tools built for builders don't handle width-and-drop pricing matrices. Invoicing platforms don't know about survey fees and deposit splits.

BlindDesk is different. It's built from scratch for the way blinds, curtains and shutters businesses actually work. The terminology is right. The workflows are right. The pricing model handles everything from a simple roller blind to a complex bay window curtain with lined and interlined fabric.

We started with quoting and pricing — the thing that takes the most time and causes the most errors — and built outward from there. Every feature in BlindDesk solves a real problem that real retailers told us about.

How we work

Three principles guide every decision we make about BlindDesk.

Trade-first thinking

Every feature starts with a real problem retailers told us about. We don't add things because they look good in a demo — we add them because they save time or reduce mistakes for the people using the software every day.

Simple and fast

BlindDesk should be faster than whatever you're doing now. If a task takes more clicks in BlindDesk than in a spreadsheet, we've got it wrong. Speed and simplicity aren't compromises — they're the goal.

Built with retailers

We talk to retailers constantly. When we're building something new, we test it with real users before it ships. The people using BlindDesk shape what BlindDesk becomes — that's how it should be.

What's next

BlindDesk is still early. We've built the foundation — quoting, pricing matrices, jobs, invoicing, calendar — but there's a lot more on the roadmap.

We're working on supplier ordering directly from within BlindDesk, deeper reporting, a customer-facing portal for approvals and sign-offs, and better integrations with the fabric and component catalogues retailers already use.

Every update we ship is driven by feedback from the retailers already using BlindDesk. If you start a trial and find something that would make your day easier, we want to hear about it.

On the roadmap

  • Direct supplier ordering
  • Customer approval portal
  • Advanced reporting & analytics
  • Fabric & product catalogue integrations
  • Mobile-optimised fitter view
  • Automated fitting reminders
